This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is engineered to provide maximum sealing performance for high-output Subaru builds. Designed to withstand the shearing forces created by aluminum heads on aluminum or cast iron blocks, the multi-layer stainless steel construction offers superior rebound and corrosion resistance compared to traditional composite gaskets.
The outer layers are embossed and coated with Viton, a fluoroelastomer rubber capable of resisting heat up to 250°C (482°F). This specialized coating conforms to various surface finishes and load conditions, ensuring a reliable seal while requiring less clamping force, which helps minimize cylinder bore distortion during installation.
