This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is engineered for high-performance sealing in demanding environments. Constructed from three to five layers of high-grade stainless steel, this gasket provides superior strength and the necessary rebound to resist corrosion and maintain a tight seal under heavy load conditions. The outer layers are embossed and coated on both sides with a specialized Viton rubber material, designed to withstand heat up to 250°C (482°F) while conforming to various surface finishes.
The C4602-051 is designed specifically for FWD configurations requiring no extra oil holes. By utilizing an uncoated stainless steel center shim layer, Cometic ensures precise thickness tolerances and optimized load distribution across the sealing area. This design requires less clamp load, significantly reducing bore distortion for better overall engine efficiency and longevity.
