DEI Form-A-Shield (10516) provides a specialized direct-contact thermal barrier for extreme-heat environments. Constructed from 10 mil dimpled aluminum bonded to a high-temperature 1/4-inch basalt thermal mat, this barrier is designed to withstand direct heat of up to 1400°F. Because this version features no adhesive backing (Non-PSA), it can be applied directly to high-heat surfaces that would otherwise compromise adhesive bonds, such as exhaust headers, manifolds, turbo housings, and downpipes.
- Direct Heat Resistance: Withstands temperatures up to 1400°F+ in direct contact applications.
- Advanced Construction: 10 mil dimpled aluminum bonded to a 1/4 in. basalt thermal barrier material.
- Extreme Pliability: Easily conforms to complex shapes, including transmission tunnels, floor pans, and fuel cells.
- Fluid Resistance: Durable material is resistant to oil and chemical spills common in automotive environments.
- Mechanical Fastening: Designed for installation using clamps, straps, or DEI Locking Ties.
- Versatile Use: Suitable for firewalls, oil tanks, and under-vehicle protection near exhaust paths.

Note: For use in non-hot areas where a reflector is needed, DEI Adhesive Spray may be used to secure the shield.
