By utilizing a conical profile, these springs reduce the reciprocating mass at the retainer end, which effectively shifts the harmonic resonance point higher in the RPM range. This design allows for increased engine speeds and improved valve control, especially when running aggressive camshaft profiles or high boost levels where standard springs may suffer from valve float.
