The KYB Gas-a-just (KG5501) is a high-pressure monotube shock absorber designed to provide significantly more damping performance than traditional twin-tube designs. It features two separate working chambers: a hydraulic piston and valve area for precise responsiveness, and a second high-pressure nitrogen gas chamber with a floating piston. This design ensures a comfortable ride during normal cruising while providing instant performance and control when demand increases.
By eliminating the aeration that causes performance fade in lesser shocks, the Gas-a-just series maintains consistent damping under load. This helps keep the vehicle's suspension and braking systems operating within original manufacturer tolerances for better safety and handling.
