Improve the thermal efficiency of your S55-powered BMW with the Mishimoto Performance Heat Exchanger. In the F8X chassis, the air-to-water intercooling system relies on a front-mounted heat exchanger to dissipate heat from the charge air. While the factory unit provides a baseline, Mishimoto engineered this upgrade to eliminate plastic components and maximize the cooling surface area within the existing engine bay constraints.

This heat exchanger features a 100% aluminum construction, replacing brittle plastic end tanks with durable TIG-welded aluminum. The core has been expanded to a 42mm thickness and an additional 150mm in height, resulting in a 60% increase in total core volume and 180% more external fin surface area. To ensure long-term reliability in a vulnerable front-mount position, Mishimoto includes a removable stainless-steel mesh stone guard to protect the fins from road debris. A variable fin pitch on the lower 12 rows specifically optimizes airflow for DCT-equipped vehicles.
