BMW's original equipment (OE) oil cooler is positioned for maximum airflow but utilizes a lightweight tube-and-fin design that is highly susceptible to road debris and punctures. The Mishimoto MMOC-F80-15 replaces this fragile unit with a heavy-duty, full aluminum bar-and-plate heat exchanger. This robust construction is specifically designed to withstand road hazards and track use without compromising heat transfer efficiency.

Beyond durability, this upgrade provides a substantial cooling advantage by increasing core thickness by 10mm. This resulting 46% increase in core volume allows for an additional 0.44 quarts of oil capacity, helping to maintain stable oil temperatures during aggressive driving. The unit features TIG-welded end tanks for superior pressure resistance and bolts directly to the factory mounting points.
