NGK IX Iridium spark plugs (BPR8EIX) are engineered for high-performance applications and modified engines, providing a significant upgrade over standard nickel alloy plugs. The center electrode is constructed from an iridium alloy that is six times harder than platinum and features an extremely high melting point, making it ideal for the high-heat environments of modern and vintage performance engines.

These plugs feature a 0.6mm fine-wire center electrode for improved ignitability and a tapered-cut ground electrode designed to minimize quenching, resulting in more consistent starts, smoother idling, and crisper throttle response. The trivalent metal plating provides superior anti-corrosion and anti-seizing properties, ensuring easier removal after long-term use.
