The Prothane 16-1602-BL 5-speed shifter kit is designed to eliminate the excessive play and vague feel commonly found in factory Subaru shift linkages. By replacing the soft, original equipment rubber bushings with high-durometer polyurethane, this kit provides a more direct connection between the gear selector and the transmission. This results in crisper gear engagement and more consistent shift throws, especially during spirited driving.
Engineered for long-term durability, these polyurethane bushings resist degradation from oil, road salt, and environmental heat better than standard rubber. This kit is a direct-fit replacement for the factory components, utilizing existing mounting points for a straightforward installation.
