Skunk2 Alpha Series Connecting Rods are engineered for high-horsepower builds, providing a reliable H-beam design rated to handle over 900 HP. Each rod is forged from select 4340 chromoly steel using a two-piece forging process. This method optimizes grain orientation along the rod cap, significantly increasing strength and fatigue resistance compared to standard one-piece forgings. To ensure structural integrity, every rod undergoes comprehensive heat-treating, tempering, shot-peening, and magna-flux inspection.
Engineered using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), the straight-beam design distributes stress across a larger surface area to minimize wear. For superior lubrication, these rods feature dual-pin oil passages at the wrist pin end, delivering consistent cooling and oiling throughout the entire engine cycle. These rods come equipped with high-tensile 3/8-inch ARP2000 bolts and bronze wrist pin bushings for professional-grade durability.
