Skyjacker 4-inch front dual rate coil springs (MPN: 174DR) are engineered to provide a controlled street ride without sacrificing the long-travel articulation needed for off-road performance. These 2-stage progressive variable rate coils feature a distinct Flex Rate and Ride Rate transition. The first-stage Flex Rate allows the suspension to expand during full articulation, keeping the coil springs seated at the upper mount and maximizing tire contact with the terrain. The second-stage Ride Rate engages during further compression to provide stable, predictable handling on the pavement.

Built for durability, these springs are manufactured from SAE9254 spring steel. Each coil undergoes a shot-peening process where hard steel pellets are blasted at high velocities to compress the steel surface and increase tensile strength. The springs are then preset to solid height to eliminate fatigue and prevent sagging over time. A baked-on powder coat finish is applied to provide a durable protective barrier against corrosion and trail debris.
