The Skyjacker Softride leaf spring is engineered to provide a smooth, comfortable ride while maintaining the rugged load-bearing capacity required for classic Ford F-Series trucks. Constructed from premium American steel, these springs undergo a rigorous shot-peening process where individual leaves are bombarded with high-velocity steel pellets. This compresses the steel surface, significantly increasing tensile strength and fatigue life to ensure maximum wheel travel without compromising the spring's longevity.
Unlike traditional leaf springs that use binding "C" style bend clips, the Softride series utilizes bolt-style spring clips to eliminate friction. Each leaf is tapered along its entire length, allowing for greater flex at the ends and more even load distribution across the pack. This progressive multi-leaf design prevents leaves from digging into one another, resulting in a more predictable and compliant suspension system.
