Skyjacker Softride leaf springs are engineered to provide a significant improvement in ride quality without sacrificing load-carrying capacity. Each spring is manufactured using high-grade American steel and undergoes a rigorous shot-peening process. By hitting the steel with high-velocity pellets, the surface is compressed to increase tensile strength and extend the service life of the spring pack under heavy cycling.
Unlike standard leaf springs that use "C" style bend clips—which can cause binding and friction—the Softride series features bolt-style spring clips to eliminate movement restriction. The individual leaves are tapered over their entire length to ensure even load distribution and maximum flexibility at the leaf ends, preventing individual leaves from digging into the spring above them during suspension travel.
