This Vibrant Performance 180-degree mandrel bend is engineered from premium 321 stainless steel, specifically designed to withstand the extreme thermal cycles common in forced induction and high-performance exhaust fabrication. Unlike 304 stainless, 321 alloy is stabilized with titanium to prevent carbide precipitation and maintain structural integrity at prolonged operating temperatures ranging from 800°F to 1500°F (427°C to 816°C).
The mandrel bending process ensures a uniform cross-section throughout the entire 180-degree sweep, minimizing turbulence and maintaining consistent exhaust gas velocity. This 18-gauge wall thickness tubing offers an ideal balance of weight reduction and tensile strength, making it the preferred choice for custom headers, turbo manifolds, and wastegate plumbing where stress fractures must be avoided.
